How services work
1Initial Contact
Start by submitting our electronic referral form. You can access it by clicking the ‘Make a referral today’ button on any page of our website. This gives us the key details we need to begin the process.
2Free phone consultation
Within 7 days of receiving your completed referral form, we will match you with one of our behaviour consultants. They will contact you to learn more about the participant, discuss your goals, and confirm whether our service model is the right fit. During this call, you will also receive a potential date for an intake.
If the expected start date is longer than 30 days, we will let you know so you can decide whether this timeframe suits your needs and consider alternative options if necessary.
3Review and sign the Participant Service Agreement
Once you decide to proceed, we will provide a Service Agreement for you to review and sign. The agreement ensures that you understand how we work, what you can expect from us, and what we will need from you to deliver safe, consistent and effective supports. It must be signed before any services can commence.
4Intake observation
The intake observation is an in-person visit where the behaviour consultant meets with you and the participant in their everyday environment. The consultant observes the participant during typical routines, identifies learning needs, and gathers information about any behaviours of concern. This may occur at home, school, or another familiar setting.
This session ensures supports are safe, appropriate, and tailored to the participant before ongoing services begin.
5Individualised plan development
Based on the intake, your behaviour consultant develops an Offer of Service that outlines the participant’s specific goals and the recommended supports needed to achieve them. This includes a Schedule of Supports, which details the proposed services, frequency, and associated costs.
We then review and refine this together in consultation with you to ensure the plan is practical, aligned with your priorities, and ready for implementation once you approve the supports.
6Supports begin
Supports start with parent and carer coaching, where your consultant teaches you how to use the strategies at home, school, or in the community. You learn practical techniques matched to daily routines and the participant’s goals.
We then provide ongoing weekly sessions focused on building communication, play, independence, daily living skills, or reducing behaviours of concern. Your consultant models the strategies, guides practice, and ensures you feel confident using them between sessions.
7Monitoring progress
Your behaviour consultant reviews progress regularly through observation, data collected during sessions, and feedback. This helps us understand what is working well, where adjustments are needed, and how the participant is developing over time.
Plans and strategies are updated as required so supports stay effective, responsive, and aligned with your goals.
